Erika Moore Named a TED Fellow

Moore is one of only 11 individuals selected for the 2024 TED Fellows program, which considered more than 6,000 applicants. She is the first TED Fellow at UMD.

At the inaugural Clark School of Engineering Capstone Design Expo, a bioengineering team received the top prize of Dean's Award for their innovative device that empowers bystanders and non-EMTs to properly and safely provide overdose victims with rescue breaths.

Collaboration between the Fischell Department of Bioengineering and University of Maryland School of Medicine launches St. John Center for Translational Engineering and Medicine (CTEM).

Renowned Research

Three BIOE faculty members received National Institutes of Health (NIH) Research Project Grants (R01) in 2018. The awards, which collectively total $5.3 million, will support research in the areas of immunology, optics, and biotherapeutics.
